The journey

I was the skinny kid first.

Eight years, three photos, and a lot of time spent learning things the slow way so you do not have to.

The start

A garage, and no idea what I was doing.

I bought a bench set from Kmart and trained in the garage, and I did train hard. That was never the problem. Effort on its own just does not get you very far when nobody has told you what actually drives the result. I ate like it did not matter and swapped the plan every few weeks because nothing was happening fast enough.

Stop start

I joined a gym and went at it in bursts.

This is the part nobody posts. I finally got into a real gym and threw everything at it, then uni and work would get busy and the whole thing would fall over. Weeks on, weeks off. The training was not sustainable and neither was the eating. It was never part of my life, it was just something I kept starting again.

Now

Better coaching, and a life it actually fit.

Two things moved it. I started learning from bodybuilding coaches and studying properly, so I understood why something worked instead of copying whatever looked right. And I built training into my life rather than around it, so a busy stretch of studying or work stopped undoing months of it. That is where the real progress came from, and when I decided to get competitive and take it on stage.

What I took from it

Three things every plan I write is built on.

  • Train with intent

Every session has a job before you walk in. Progressive overload you can actually track, running the same core lifts long enough to see them move, instead of a new random workout each week that leaves you guessing whether any of it did anything.

  • Build something sustainable

No banned foods and no crash deficits. Targets built around the way you already eat, so the plan holds on a busy week and not only on a good one. Anything you have to white knuckle your way through has an expiry date on it.

  • Built with you, not at you

Nothing gets cut unless it genuinely works for you. I want to know your schedule, your job, what you actually like eating and what you will keep doing when the week goes sideways. What changes and what stays is a decision we make together.
